Key Features

Automated daily update scheduling via cron with configurable timing (default: 4:00 AM) and timezone settings
Dual update system that handles both Clawdbot core updates and skill package updates in a single run
Comprehensive change reporting with structured messages summarizing updated skills, current versions, and any issues encountered
Dry-run mode that checks for available updates without applying them, useful for reviewing changes before committing
Flexible configuration supporting multiple package managers (npm, pnpm, bun) and custom notification preferences

Use Cases

Keeping a production Clawdbot instance current without manual intervention or remembering to check for updates
Running unattended agent environments that need to stay patched and up-to-date for security and stability
Managing multiple Clawdbot installations where manual updates would be impractical
Monitoring the update landscape before applying changes by using dry-run mode on a staging instance

How It Works

The skill registers a cron job that executes three processes in sequence: updating the Clawdbot core using the appropriate package manager, running

clawdhub update --all

to refresh all installed skills, and delivering a formatted report listing everything that changed. Users can set up the schedule via natural language ("Set up daily auto-updates") or by manually configuring the cron expression.

Getting Started

Request setup by telling your agent to configure daily auto-updates, or manually add the provided cron job command with your preferred schedule and timezone. For safety, consider starting with dry-run mode enabled and reviewing the logs at

~/.clawdbot/logs/

before switching to automatic application of updates.
