Key Features

Multi-turn conversations that maintain context across multiple messages within a session, unlike single-shot interactions
Session persistence with conversation history stored in JSONL format that survives system restarts
Agent discovery to list available agents with their IDs, capabilities, and workspace details
Full session management including create, retrieve, list, and delete operations for conversation sessions
Lightweight architecture using a shell script wrapper around the OpenClaw CLI with no heavy dependencies

Use Cases

Query another agent about its capabilities before delegating work
Coordinate multi-step tasks between specialized agents in a pipeline
Conduct extended research conversations between agents with different expertise areas
Enable user-initiated communication bridges between agents that do not normally interact

How It Works

A2A Chatting operates as a command-line wrapper around the OpenClaw CLI. Sessions are stored in the openclaw directory with metadata indexed in sessions.jsonl and individual conversation files per session. The shell script manages session lifecycle while the OpenClaw CLI handles the actual agent-to-agent message routing.

Getting Started

Ensure the openclaw CLI and jq are installed on your system. Install the skill, then use agent discovery to find available agents. Create a session with a target agent and begin exchanging messages. All conversations are automatically persisted locally.
